Securing access to offices, an industrial site, or public infrastructure starts with choosing a reader suited to your needs.
Far more than a simple access management solution, the CASTEL LiNEGUARD reader range offers an intuitive approach that interacts with the user.
Innovation, without ever compromising on security level.
LiNEGUARD access control readers offer enhanced security level, with a native built-in motion-detection accelerometer that immediately signals tampering/removal attempts to the system, triggering key erasure.
In addition, an EAL6+ security system guarantees optimal protection against hacking.
CASTEL LiNEGUARD readers feature preconfigured light and sound signals, allowing them to intuitively communicate and inform the user of the system’s status (access granted, access denied, intrusion alarm, etc.).
15 light-sequence profiles and 6 sound-sequence profiles are preconfigured according to the status. Fully customizable via the Lineguard Studio Cloud tool.
Relies on a vertical light guide made of 6 LEDs.
Color, progressive on/off sequences, and signal duration indicate status feedback.
Integrates a 25-LEDs matrix to display dynamic pictograms: directional arrow, rejection cross, validation…
Immediate visual feedback for clear and precise information.
Ideal for surface-mounting the badge reader on narrow door frames, aluminum profiles, or tight spaces. This discreet casing ensures neat architectural integration without compromising badge reading performance.
Designed with a wider front face. This reader installs on standard flush-mounting boxes or flat wall surfaces, offering optimal ergonomics for keypad code entry on equipped models.
From read-only to dual identification, each model addresses a different security level and use case.
Designed to enforce dual identification. The user must present their card to the reader, and then enter their code on a rugged, backlit mechanical keypad. Also used for temporary code-based access.
Integrates a dynamic capacitive screen capable of displaying a random virtual keypad to prevent key-replay attacks, along with customized visual instructions to enhance security.
Dedicated to fast reading of each badge. These proximity readers ensure smooth management and access control in high-traffic areas.

Every reader in the range integrates the most rigorous electronic standards and communication protocols, to provide maximum protection against intrusion attempts, card cloning, or hacking.
MIFARE® Classic, MIFARE® UltraLight, MIFARE® Plus, as well as the high-security DESFIRE® EV2 and EV3 chips, are read in under 200 ms. An EAL6+ certified component keeps encryption keys out of reach of attackers.
Each reader communicates directly with access control units, natively integrating secure exchange protocols: RS485 2-wire secure Castel protocol for IPEVIA SECUR units, and RS485 OSDP V2 (Secure Channel, transparent mode possible) for Synchronic by Castel units.
Built-in Bluetooth (BLE) and NFC connectivity: the Castel Virtual Card mobile app turns any iOS or Android smartphone into a virtual badge, with no changes needed to the existing installation.
An onboard accelerometer reports any tampering/vandalism attempt to the control unit. Concerning mechanical protection, the casings offer IP65 water/dust resistance ratings and high impact-resistance levels (IK07 to IK10, depending on model).
Deploying an effective access system requires readers perfectly suited to buildings’ physical constraints and user flows. LiNEGUARD readers come in three main criteria: casing format, authentication interface type, and visual feedback mode.

The choice of reader depends on location and required security level. For simple control at office entrances, a compact-format proximity reader (LINE 40EVO) offers fast RFID badge reading. To secure a sensitive door requiring a PIN code, a keypad reader in compact or large format (LINE K40EVO or LINE K80EVO) provides robust dual authentication. If the goal is to display clear visual instructions at a high-traffic access point, LINE 80EVO MATRIX (with 25 LEDs) or LINE 80EVO TOUCH (with touchscreen) are the best fit.
The difference lies in the reader’s light display. The Line Evo version features a vertical 6-LED guide, ideal for displaying clean, streamlined signals. The Line Evo Matrix version uses a 25-LED matrix capable of displaying pictograms and dynamic visual animations. Both reader ranges offer identical 13.56 MHz RFID reading, the same security level.
Yes. In addition to reading physical RFID badges, the readers natively include Bluetooth (BLE) and NFC chips. The Castel Virtual Card app lets users validate their passage directly from their phone, with no card or code needed. This dematerialized feature works alongside standard proximity-badge reading. Yes. In addition to RFID reading of physical badges, the readers natively feature Bluetooth (BLE) and NFC chips. The Castel Virtual Card app allows users to validate their entry directly from their phone, without needing a card or PIN. This virtual credential feature works in parallel with standard proximity badge reading.
